Hello!
My name is Daniel Washburn. I'm a full-stack web developer with about seven years of professional experience. I first taught myself to code about seventeen years ago, back in middle school.
Technologically speaking, I consider myself a polyglot - I enjoy learning and experimenting with new programming languages, frameworks, etc. In terms of frontend development, I have largely focused in recent years on React + TypeScript. My backend experience is primarily in C# (current) and Java. I have worked with a wide range of databases, from Postgres and MySQL, to SQL Server, Oracle, IBM's DB2, MongoDB, and others. I am confident in my ability to quickly pick up languages, frameworks, tools, and paradigms as needed and on the fly.
I am opinionated, but adaptable and cooperative. I am a big fan of the rapid prototyping and ergonomics of scripting languages like Python, Ruby, and Javascript - but also of the safety, legibility, and self-documenting nature of static typing. Modern languages like C# and TypeScript with extensive type inference and minimal boilerplate strike a nice balance here. More Tech-related Rambling...
